PET 2016 Application Extend date till 10 Dec. :-Mumbai University

" Mumbai University extends PET application date till December 10."

The Mumbai University has extended the dates for submission of online forms for PhD Entrance Test (PET) 2016. The candidates can now submit the forms till December 10, 2.30 pm. Earlier the deadline was November 30. The varsity is going to conduct the entrance test on January 3. According to reports, the dates were extended after huge number of students submitted their filled forms on the last day. 

The PhD course offered by Mumbai University has research subjects in Faculty of Arts, Commerce, Science, Law, Management, Fine Arts and Technology. 

Eligibility criterion:-

The candidates should have master's degree in relevant discipline from any recognised university, having acquired at least 55 per cent marks (50 per cent marks in case of reserved category candidates).

Education qualification:-

The candidates who have qualified GATE/SET/NET/JRF exam and are holders of teachers fellowships of apex bodies like CSIR/UGC/ICAR/ICMR/DBT etc are exempted from appearing for this test. 

Selection process:-

The candidates will be selected on the basis of a written test.

Paper pattern:-

The duration of the paper is three hours for 100 marks. The question papers will comprise of three type of questions.

Objective type of Questions: 40 marks

Short answers: 30 marks

Long answers: 30 marks

Application process:

The candidates can apply for the post through the official website, the link for which is mu.ac.in.

Application fee:-

The candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 1,000 (Rs 500 for SC/ST/OBC/PDWD candidates)

Important dates:-

The last date for submitting online application is December 10 till 2.30 pm

The date foe entrance examination is January 3.
