Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has officially released the
detailed notification for the Common Recruitment Process (CRP PO/MT-XVI) to
recruit Probationary Officers and Management Trainees for the 2027–28
recruitment cycle. This recruitment drive offers a total of 6,715 vacancies
across 11 participating public sector banks.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Limit (As of July 1, 2026)
- Minimum Age: 20 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years.
Note: Candidates must have been born between July 2, 1996, and July 1, 2006 (both dates inclusive). Standard upper-age relaxation applies for reserved categories (5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC-NCL
2. Educational Qualification (As of July 21, 2026)
- Applicants must hold a
graduation degree (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech, or equivalent) from a
university recognized by the Government of India.
- The final results must be
officially declared on or before July 21, 2026.

- General / OBC / EWS candidates: ₹850

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The
recruitment process consists of three distinct stages:
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Online Objective)
This
phase is qualifying in nature and consists of three sections with a total
duration of 60 minutes (20 minutes individual sectional timing):
- English Language: 30 questions (30 marks)
- Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions (35 marks)
- Reasoning Ability: 35 questions (35 marks)
Total: 100 Questions / 100 Marks
Stage 2: Main Examination (Objective + Descriptive)
The Mains
exam score contributes significantly to the final merit list. This year
features structural refinements in evaluation focus:
- Objective Test: 145 questions worth 200
marks (Duration: 160 minutes) covering Reasoning, Data Analysis &
Interpretation, English Language, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness.
- Descriptive Test: 2 questions (Letter writing
and Essay writing) worth 25 marks (Duration: 30 minutes).
Stage 3: Interview Round
Candidates
who clear both the sectional and overall cut-offs in the Main exam move to the
face-to-face interview, which carries 100 marks. The final merit weightage
distribution is 80% from the Main examination and 20% from the interview.
Salary Structure
Selected
candidates receive a basic starting pay ranging between ₹48,480 and ₹85,920. With
added benefits such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA),
Special Allowance, and medical perks, the initial gross in-hand salary ranges
approximately from ₹65,000 to ₹70,000 per month, depending on the bank
and location of the posting.
