Delhi EWS/DG Admission 2026-27

Delhi EWS Admission 2026-27 for Class Nursery/KG/1st

Key Dates & Schedule

The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has set the following timeline for online applications: 

  • Application Start Date: February 21, 2026
  • Last Date to Apply: March 16, 2026

First Computerized Lottery Draw: Expected in late March or early April 2026 

Eligibility Criteria

  • Residence: Must be a resident of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi.
  • Income Limit (EWS): Total annual family income must be less than ₹5 lakh from all sources.
  • Category (DG): Includes SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), orphans, transgender children, and children living with HIV.

Age Limit (as of March 31, 2026)

  • Nursery (Pre-school): 3 to 5 years (Born between 1 April 2021 – 31 March 2023).
  • KG (Pre-primary): 4 to 6 years (Born between 1 April 2020 – 31 March 2022).
  • Class 1: 5 to 7 years (Born between 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2021).

Note: A 30-day relaxation in the age limit may be granted by the school head upon request. 

Required Documents

You must have these documents ready for the online application:

  • Proof of Birth: Birth certificate, Hospital/Maternity record, or an Anganwadi record.
  • Residence Proof: Aadhaar card, Ration card (with child’s name), Voter ID, or a recent utility bill (Electricity/Water/MTNL) in the parent's name.

Income/Category Proof

  • For EWS: Income certificate issued by a Revenue Officer (SDM) or BPL/AAY/Food Security Card.
  • For DG: Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) issued by the Revenue Department of GNCT Delhi.
  • Aadhaar Card: Required for the child and both parents. 

How to Apply

  • Visit the official portal at edudel.nic.in or go directly to the EWS/DG Admission Module.
  • Click on "Registration for New Applicant" to generate a Registration ID and Password.
  • Fill in the child's details, parent information, and select preferred schools within your locality.
  • Submit the form and keep a printout of the application for the lottery result. 

Pro-tip: You can select an unlimited number of schools within 0–6 km of your residence and up to 5 schools beyond that range to increase your chances in the lottery.

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has initiated the Right to Education (RTE) Act, which provides free and compulsory education to children from disadvantaged and weaker sections of society. Here are some key details about the UP RTE Free Admissions 2026:

  • Pay The Examination Fee Through Debit / Credit Card Net Banking UPI Online Mode Only

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Children between the ages of 6 to 14 years are eligible to apply.
  • The family's annual income should be less than ₹1 lakh.
  • The child should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Priority will be given to children from SC/ST, OBC, and minority communities.

Application Process:

  • The application process is online, and parents can apply through the official website of the Basic Education Department, Uttar Pradesh.
  • The online application form will be available on the website 

Benefits:

  • Free admission to private schools in Uttar Pradesh.
  • Reimbursement of tuition fees up to ₹59,000 per annum.
  • Free textbooks, uniforms, and other educational materials.

Schools Participating:

  • Over 20,000 private schools in Uttar Pradesh are participating in the RTE program.
  • The list of participating schools will be available on the official website.
